11:32 am - Really LONG departure...
|
Well, I haven't written in this thing in FOREVER! Before graduation! Well, graduation and summer have come and gone, and I have been thrust into the real world. No longer am I living on campus, but I am still mooching off of BU! God bless tuition remission! HAHA! Getting my Masters on BU's tab, it was a stroke of genius to take this job at OSP. Right now, things are calm at work (where I am now). But things were nuts for the last few days.
I've moved to Brookline, MA (for those of you who don't know, it's the town RIGHT next to Boston). I'm practically still on campus, but it's nice to be away from dorm life. I love not having RA meetings every Wednesday! But it's sad, because Steve, Vito and Alyssa are all gone. Tough to lose 3 of your best friends!
Johanna and I are living in a nice 1 bedroom apartment, and are gradually starting to feel like grown-ups! Rent sucks, btw! HAHA. Oh well, I am going to go pretend to do some work.

4:30 pm - The End is Near
|
Well, the end is near... Time has flown by since I've been at BU. I can't believe that it's been 4 years since I entered college! There are only 7 days left in my college career and that is kinda scary and kinda exciting. I have a plan and a job, so that's nice, however there is a certain security about college. The freedom to do what you want, when you want and not have to worry too much. Once I get out in the real world, that all changes. I will have things to worry about, bills to pay and expectations (other than my own) to meet. Things will forever be different.
My friends are going to scatter to the four winds, which is very sad. Vito is headed to NYC, Steve to Ft. Lauderdale and many others back to their homes or off to new areas. It will be both a sad and exciting day on graduation.
I will be staying in Boston for the immediate future. Having secured a job at the Office of Sponsored Programs @ BU, I will be working and taking classes toward my Masters Degree in Educational Policy. Right now, Johanna and I are looking for apartments in Brookline, hopefully we will find one.
I just want all my friends to know that they will be missed. My contact info will stay the same at least for the near future, so you know how to get ahold of me. Come August the cell # will likely change, but I will let you all know.
Best of Luck to all my friends in the Class of 2003! Let the wild ride we call life begin!

4:01 pm - I'm Back!
|
Well, it's been a really, really, really long time since I last wrote in here. I have been pretty busy, and occupied by other things that come before Livejournal. However, I've found time to write a little something.
Tomorrow I start teaching my World History II classes at Chelsea High. It should be interesting. I am kinda nervous and excited at the same time.
Going w/ Vito to see Adrianne tonight at the Kendell Cafe. Should be a good distraction from all of the school stuff. Check out Evanescence! They are a kick ass band. I am a huge fan. Whisper, Lies and Bring Me to Life are some of their good songs.
Nothing too exciting going on. Hopefully I will keep updating this now that I've started again.

3:07 pm - What I'm Thankful For
|
All I am going to say is that in this time of Thanksgiving, I am truly thankful for my family and friends. My friends are great, they really are. I appreciate all of you. I am truly thankful that I have friends like Steve, Vito, Amy and others. I am so lucky to have an amazing girlfriend like Johanna. So I just want to say thanks for everything. I love you all.

12:25 pm - My long awaited return!
|
I haven't written in this thing in months! Oh well, I guess I have just had better things to do. I've been busy with class and stuff like that. The semester is winding down and I am only 6 months away from graduation! Yikes! Kinda scary!
Hopefully I will be moving to Washington, D.C. and getting a teaching job there. That is what Johanna and I have been looking at doing. Boston is too expensive to stay, although I wouldn't mind staying. Going to be student teaching in Chelsea next semester, Steve's going to be there too, so that should be fun.
"Working" right now, hehe. Not that I actually really do anything. I guess I am going to go read. Hope everyone has a great weekend! :-)

2:47 am - My Feet Hurt!
|
Oh, and another thing, I'm definitely not sober! Woohoo!! Went to see The Transporter w/ Vito tonight. That movie kicked ass. It was short, sweet and to the point. A great action movie, all action, no silly shit. Some of hte best fighting scenes I've ever seen, and by far the best car chase scene I've seen, better than the Bourne Identity's chase scene. It starred Jason Statham, the guy who as been in many of Guy Ritchie's movies notably Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels! It kicked ass so much. Loved it! Loved it!
Then Vito and I went on our own pub crawl. We started at the Dugout, made our way to Beckett's Pub (which has cheap drinks, 2.50 for a rum an coke!!!), then went to Kinvarna and The Kells. Definitely liked Beckett's cause it was cheap. Kells was nice to finish the night, good enviroment, but expensive. Kinvarna had too many old people. The Dugout is the Dugout. Had like 6 rum and cokes, and then half a mike's. It was nice, not too expensive, but i had to walk all the way home! My feet hurt! I am drinking water, no hangovers for me!! HAHA! Listening to some good tunes, and then I am going to crash, I know it.
What a good night! It was fucking fun! TRANSPORTER!! WOOHOO!!! Go see it! Fucking awesome movie! Even drunk, I still type better than Jon Rea! HEHEHE! :-)

2:15 pm - At Work
|
Yup, that's right kids, I'm at work. Just chilling in the Office of Sponsored Programs, getting paid to do nothing. Right now the only thing I am doing is talking to Jon Rea and typing this entry.
So I have had this job now for a week, and it's not bad at all. I do virtually nothing and get paid 8.50 an hour to sit and talk on IM and do reading for my classes. The people I work with are cool, so all in all it's a good job.
Going to see My Big Fat Greek Wedding tonight, I want to see what all the hype is about. Saw Knockaround Guys on Saturday of last week, that was a quality flick, I recommend it highly. Vin Diesel was very good in the movie.
RAing is going well, the floor is great, I like them a lot, and they seem to like me, so it's all good. Much better, overall, than last year. I think I deserve it after the floor from last year! Anyway, I think that is all for now. Peace everyone, I still have 2 hours and 45 more minutes left of work.

2:45 pm - Finally a Real Update
|
I have been neglecting the LiveJournal of late, haven't made a real post since July sometime. Not sure why, I guess I just have been doing other things. Anyway, I felt that I should update this thing.
Got a job working for Sponsored Programs at 25 Buick Street. Only like 10 hours, but it's something to start with. Trying to find another job for maybe 10 more hours a week. Am going to drop my Children's Lit. class and replace it with a MET class called History of Warfare. I think that will be more fun for me anyway. Floor seems pretty good, better overall than last year's floor. Am finally legal and have been taking advantage of it. :-) I should probably update this more often from now on.
I had intended to rant about how dumb John Silber is, but I think everyone already knows that, so I will spare everyone that rant. But he truly is an asshole.

What Was Your PastLife?
Okay, so I'm obviously not a 'good guy'. Like I care -- UWAHAHAHAHAHA!! I'm probably somewhere in the middle, neither prude nor fop. But get a half-dozen shots of Vodka in me and I'm the life of the party -- if I'm not crashing it. Oh, and three words: Big. Furry. Hats. Curious to know where you belong?

9:28 pm - Oh What an Exciting Night!
|
So I spent my night with sorority girls and football players! Sounds exciting doesn't it? First I relived the season past with the football players, then the sorority girls got drunk and ran into walls. Where could I possibly find so much fun in Robesonia?! On the TV of course. Between napping and listening to the radio, I watched some good TV!
MTV continues with the reality shows with 'Sorority Girls.' It follows a bunch of pledges at UC-Davis around during the pledge process. Watching this show makes me realize where so many of the stereotypes come from about sorority girls. However it dispels many of them at the same time. Let me explain, the pledges are typical 'sorority girls', while the actual sisters seem a bit out of the ordinary when compared to the stereotype.
Before this amazing show, I watched the 2001 NFL Yearbook of my beloved Philadelphia Eagles. It was fun to watch some of the highlights of the past year. Hopefully there will be many more this year. Following was Monday Night Countdown on ESPN2. This show surprised me as training camp just started. I guess it shows America's new past time is not baseball, but football. I can't wait til football season.
Tomorrow is a rousing trip to a pretzel factory with the kiddies, this should be interesting. Anyway, I will spare everyone from the countdowns that I am torturing myself with. Even as the days tick down, I get more frustrated that the subjects of the countdown aren't really any closer. Anyway, I am going to go continue on exciting night by playing Text Twist on Yahoo! Games, check it out, it's good fun when you are bored out of your mind.
Oh, btw, Enrique's new song 'Don't Turn Out the Light' sucks a big, hairy, monkey b****.

Yeah, you know it. Yeah, you know it all, don't ya? But alas, usually being eager to learn takes it's toll on your social life. But you don't really care, cuz you know in 15 years you're gonna own their asses. MWUHAHAHA, that's right, after writing your thesis, you plan on global domination. Probably not, but we all know you're perfectly capable of it.

10:19 pm - Long Time No Post
|
Well, it's been like 2.5 weeks since a post of any kind and about 3 weeks since the last serious post. This is partly because of Livejournal, partly b/c of my computer and partly out of laziness. As my summer has been relatively eventless with the exceptions of the trip to Johanna's and Johanna's trip down here, there isn't much to post. Also when I decide to post, Livejournal f**** up some how, or my computer crashes.
Anyway, I have about a month until I return to Boston, this means that the worst is over. Or at least the larger portion of the summer is over. I remember way back in May counting down with like 80-something days left. Thank goodness it's soon. I turn 21 in a day short of a month, woohoo!! I can't wait, most or all of my friends are 21 now, so it kinda sucks. But soon, RA training will prove to be a blur as I party up in Boston.
Work is going ok, there are fewer kids, but some of my favs have returned, making it more fun. I definitely am ready to get out of there though, it's not the same as last summer.
My grandfather, who suffered a series of small strokes and had quadruple bypass surgery is doing pretty well. He is home, and has PT, trying to rebuild strength. Hopefully he will regain his mental abilities, as he is still a little slow with that. He has made remarkable progress though, the doctors thought he would be in the rehab building for 3 months and was out in 3 weeks. So hopefully that continues.
Johanna's trip down this past weekend was great. It was so nice to see her and spend time with her. Hopefully she will come down again in a few weeks. But we'll see.
Nothing too exciting going on here, other than the heat, and a broken AC. One of our AC's broke and while it's not hot in the house, it is not a coll as it could be. I mean it could be worse, so I can't complain too much.
On to a rant, you know what I can't stand, these silly radio hosts who think they are authorities and can dispense advice as though they were psychiatrists or something. One in particular sticks out, this chick called Delilah, who is syndicated I think, and is played on Mix 95.7. Well, she sucks, she always has these stupid stories and gives stupid advice. Not to mention she plays sucky music and definitely doesn't think of peoples' feelings when she plays them. A lady called in and was all sad b/c she broke up with her bf and wanted a song to comfort her, Delilah plays Roxette - It Must Have Been Love. Great choice there! Also on the radio rant, the quality of radio has diminished greatly. Y-102 while tolerable is slowly sliding to terrible, WLAN plays generic versions of songs (ex: they don't play DJ Sammy - Heaven, they play some knock off song), right now T-102 is the station that is taking the lead. Who would have thought a station out of Pottsville, up in the coal mining region could play good music?
Anyway, I hope to post more, as it appears my computer is going to cooperate now and could be on the verge of working well for the first time in a while. Peace everyone.
P.S. Oh and if anyone wants to take me out to drink on my 21st I will still be in PA but let me know. It's Friday August 16. And if you can't make it to PA feel free to throw a party in Boston upon my return on Sunday August 18. :-) HAHA, shameless self promotion, that's what this journal is for.

Hello everyone! I am back in Boston! Woohoo! It feels good to back here :-) It's nice having my car here too!. Currently sitting in the SED Graduate Admissions Office b/c Johanna had to work a half day. So I am playing on one of the computers. Anyway not much is going on really. Next week is a short week of work, only 3 days! Then the following two weeks are shortened by a visit from Johanna. Hopefully I will be able to get back up here before school starts again to visit. Driving up here wasn't too bad. It was raining like crazy the entire way up here, but I got here safely. Peace out.

11:29 am - So, It's Been Over 2 Weeks
|
I haven't written anything meaningful or anything period in here in over 2 weeks. I just posted "My Mental Age", but that is the last thing I posted since the end of May. Lots of things have been happening. My grandfather had to undergo his 2nd open-heart surgery. He had 4 bypasses, but is doing ok. Thankfully everything went well.
Johanna came down the weekend my grandfather had the surgery. She is great, she really couldn't afford to, but she wanted to come down and be supportive. I appreciated it so much. On the bright side of her visit it was great to see her. I am glad that we broke up the near month long period that was going to be between visiting each other. I am gong up to Boston the weekend of the 28th, so that should be fun.
Stated work finally! Thank goodness! Gives me something to do when I am home. However it has changed a lot. Alyson is not there with us :-( There are WAY less kids than last year. Most of my favorite little ones aren't there anymore. Not that I don't like the kids that are there, but I miss some of the ones that aren't there anymore. Can't wait to get more paychecks. Being broke sucks. I am taking donations currently. Contact me if you want to contribute to the Elmer Smith Foundation for Broke College Students.
Went to see the Phillies last night with Jon Rea and Vito. It was good to see them. I had a good time. The Phillies lost, but I was glad to see the guys. It was good to talk with both of them. Bitching with Vito, just like old times, hahahaha!
Ok, Nelly's new song is ridiculous! Who sings a song that's main part is "It's getting hot in here, so take off all your cloths!" and then has a girl reply "I am getting so hot, I wanna take my cloths off"? It is one of the dumbest songs I have ever heard. This rant was brought on by the fact that the stupid song came on T-102.
Hmmm, I guess that about sums up the highlights of the last few weeks. Something like 2 months left until I return to Boston, can't wait. Peace.

So I took this silly "What mental age are you?" test and it was pretty damn close. See the results below:

Not too far off as I turn 21 in almost exactly 2 months! Woohoo! Also only around 2 months left til I return to Boston.! Another Woohoo!
